Welcome to our website. My name is Emma Clancy and with my partner Ludovic Cornuau we run French Property Connect, a real estate company specialising in properties for sale in the beautiful region of Poitou-Charentes, West France. I moved to Charente Maritime 5 years ago from Wiltshire to start a new beginning living away from the pressures of life in the UK, to teach English and enjoy a slower pace of life, and thought if I don’t make the move now I never will, and chose the Charente Maritime because of the climate, the sea, the affordability of buying a property and have never looked back. Ludovic and I met 4 years ago in his restaurant in Rochefort, and not long after we moved in together, although there was a language barrier at the beginning, he’s helped me enormously and luckily has bags of patience. Together we make a good team, myself to help the English buyers, and Ludovic with the sellers. It doesn’t matter what your questions are from finding local tradesmen to guiding you through the daunting task of paperwork needed to settle in France, as well as helping you find your dream home.
What we do
When I arrived in France in 2004 to buy a property it soon became clear that although I spoke French, there were a lot of obstacles with French Estate Agents, Notaires, Council and Tax offices who didn’t speak English. It wasn’t easy but I managed to setup a home, bank account, find work and complete documents needed to live in France. From my own experiences here and helping others to make that important move, my aim is to guide you through whatever your requirements are, and to make it as easy and painless as possible. Once you have selected properties that you would like to view from out site, we can offer you the option of a hospitality package which includes pickup and dropoff to the airport in France, hotel accommodation, showing the properties and to give a portfolio with the property details and a C.D of photos for you to keep. This service is at a cost of 160 euros per day, or if you make your own arrangements to come to France to visit properties from our website there is no fee to pay. We currently work alongside Estate Agents based in the region who pay us a commission for the sale of the property, therefore there is no added fee to pay to ourselves by the buyer, and the price includes Estate Agency fees.
We also work independently and therefore if the property has our FPC logo attached, it means that the property includes our commission which would be charged to the buyer separately ‘at the time of signing the (Acte de Vente) completion contract.
