Great base to explore this part of France.  Few minutes east and you are in the Dordogne – 20 minutes to Brantôme.  Go west and travel through Cognac country to the Atlantic coast warmed by the Gulf Stream. Seaside resorts, fishing villages, seafood and the delightful islands of Ré and Oleron.
